LOOK : The Japanese-American lumberjack

1 ~ Engineered Garments reigns supreme when it comes to knits. This 90% wool cardi is better made than what the eye shows. There are enforced pocket linings so the delicate stitching on the wool doesn’t unravel.
2 ~ The shirt is a corduroy lumberjack plaid by Nom De Guerre, the pearl buttons elevates the stature of what a “lumberjack” is supposed to represent.
3 ~ The Pants are a generic pair of army BDU’s. I like that the olive is all faded to the point of almost looking grey.
4 ~ Visvim Mowat’s boot in vegetable tanned leather doesn’t get as much love as they should. The fact that they’re veggie tanned means for great aging potential. (ps : Foster gets copyright on “shoes in the air” photos)

For 2010, the brand welcomes a new footwear program consisting of clean styles with subtle colorways while still remaining skateable sneakers. Four different models are seen, including The Franklin, Jackson, Grant and Grant Low. Stay tuned for release details soon.
Curren$y – Breakfast
“We don’t have the power to change the weather as of yet, but those of us with means can change our location to fit the climate we desire. In Curren$y’s latest video for his song “Breakfast” he does just that going from sleeping through NYC’s harsh winter to waking up in a sun drenched Jamaican villa. Director Jonah Shwartz leads us through Spitta’s daily routine of early morning doobie rolling over a mellow Mos Def produced soundtrack.”
Throwback.
Thanks to the Weekend Warriors. I wanna give a big ups to them and the whole Be Cool Movement.
Now to the vid. Enjoy.
Friendly Fire: Aura With An M
Friendly Fire: Aura With An M

I’ve known Maura since her days of working at goodfoot in 05- ish. I was merely a prepubescent teenager when she was donning her air max 93’s in my face, always giving me the tip on nikes to hardcore music. And aside from being a fashion editor over at HeartyMagazine she also has one of the dopest blogs and I wanna be the first to talk about it before everyone else gets on the boat. If you have a girlfriend and want her to learn a thing or two, point her this way.
ps: doesn’t she kind of look like a mix of Cat Power and Feist???

MIDEM: PHARRELL WILLIAMS INTERVIEW
Artist and über-producer Pharrell Williams took to the stage at MidemNet today, for an interview conducted by Cornerstone co-CEO Rob Stone. The topics: how artists can engage their fans in the digital era, and the potential of musicians and brands joining forces. To paraphrase the N.E.R.D. song: you can’t be him, he’s a rock star! But what has he got to say?
He’s wearing these Danny Kass Nike Snowboarding Boots.

A Thoughtful Pair of Chinos
A Thoughtful Pair of Chinos
To the naked eye, they may seem like a regular pair of chinos, but through investigative inspection, you may discover a few things that you won’t find elsewhere. Two aspects of this pair of pants were demanding my attention: the herringbone weave twill & the crotch rivet. “What the hell is a crotch rivet?” you may ask, well that’s exactly the intrigue; It is almost impossible to find a crotch rivet on any pant, let alone any pair of jeans made after the 40’s. This takes us back to a brief denimology lesson with 2 different but valid theories: 1. The crotch rivet was removed from production because cowboys, after being near campfire, saw the danger of the burning hot rivet once they got back on their saddles. 2. During the war, companies were forced to reduce use of metals in their production forcing Jean manufacturers to eliminate useless rivets. I think the first one sounds cooler, but choose the one you want to tell your friend….(Thanks SUFU)
The herringbone is a plus, giving abit of “dandy” to a casual item is always nice.
Note: Even though the quality of their garments don’t scream excellency, Ransom’s pieces often possess a little extra in the details department.
